I am feeling very distracted and don’t know if I have the words for the “Heights” this week.  At this moment my father is in the hospital.  I feel frightened and concerned because my dad is very sick.  Yet various words continue to enter my thoughts: “Your will be done.”  “Come, Lord Jesus, come.”  I am putting my trust in the Lord.  I am inviting the Lord to come into this terrible time of anxiety and fear for my dad, my mom and my brothers and sisters.

On this first Sunday of Advent, let’s each of us invite the Lord Jesus to come into any and all areas of darkness, confusion and fear.  Whether the situation of darkness, confusion and fear is within us, in a relationship or within another, let’s invite the Lord of light in.  We wait for the Lord Jesus not only to come on Christmas Day but also to come NOW into our lives and also at the end of time.

COME, LORD JESUS, come into our lives. Let us know your presence in the darkest moments.
