Peace to you at this time of grief and sadness in your life.
The faith community of the Church of the Little Flower is keeping you in prayer at this time.
We at the Church of the Little Flower endeavor to make this time a source of comfort from God and the faith community. After your meeting with the funeral director one of the pastoral staff at the parish will contact you to arrange a time when you and other family members can meet with us at the parish to prepare the funeral Mass. In preparation for the meeting, please click on the link to view our Funeral Planning Sheet. Filling this out will help our Priests design a personal funeral for your loved one.
Eulogies are not permitted within the Funeral Mass itself by decree of the Archbishop of Newark. However, if you desire to have a eulogy at the time of the funeral Mass, someone may deliver the eulogy prior to the beginning of the Mass. Eulogies may not be longer than five minutes in length.
Choosing the Readings
All Readings and the Gospel are available in the book “Continuing the Journey…” which will be provided to you. A list of readings can be found on the back pages of the Funeral Planning Sheet.
The first reading is taken from the Old Testament, except during the time between Easter and Pentecost, the first reading is then taken from the New Testament.
The second reading is taken from the New Testament.
Church Hymns - The Director of Music Ministries (Liz Mancinelli) will assist you in selecting suitable music for your loved one’s Mass.
